Croissantgate has no account, no ads and no audience measurement. Your puzzles, times and streak stay on your iPhone.
1. Puzzles, times and streak
Puzzles ship inside the app and are solved on the device. Your games, times, hints and streak are stored only on your iPhone. The publisher has no access to them. There is no iCloud sync. “Erase my data”, in the settings, removes your progress, streak, statistics and reminders.
2. The time of day
To know what day it is and count the streak honestly, the app asks a small LaCobble server, hosted by Cloudflare, for a signed time. This is its only network request. It contains nothing about you: no identifier, no game, no time. With no network, the app uses the iPhone's clock and the streak waits.
3. Widget
The streak widget reads your streak from a space shared between the app and the widget, on the device. Nothing goes anywhere else.
4. Reminders
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled on your iPhone. Permission is only requested if you turn the setting on. No server is involved.
5. Game Center
If you're signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, the app records your achievements there. They are managed by Apple and stay with Apple if you erase your data. There are no leaderboards, and nothing appears if you're not signed in.
6. Sharing
“Forward to the team” and “Share the card” open the system share sheet, with a short text or an image (number, time, hints, false leads, streak), to the app you choose. Nothing is sent to a LaCobble server.
7. Privacy manifest
The app's privacy manifest declares no data collected and no tracking.
8. This site
This site only turns on Google Analytics after your explicit consent in the cookie banner. Without consent, no audience measurement is loaded. The pocket case on this page runs entirely in your browser. The support form sends your name, email and message to our support tool, to reply to you and nothing else.
